Stewart A. L. Glegg received the Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR), Southampton University, U.K., for studies on jet noise source location.
He was a Research Specialist with Westland Helicopters, U.K., for two years (1977-1979) and then joined the faculty at the ISVR (1979-1985) as a Lecturer sponsored by the Navy. In 1985, he joined the faculty in the Department of Ocean Engineering at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, and in 1991 became the Director of the Center for Acoustics and Vibration. He has served on technical committees for Underwater Acoustics (ASA), Acoustical Oceanography (ASA), Standards in Underwater Acoustics (ASA), and Aeroacoustics (AIAA). He is currently acting as an Associate Editor for the AIAA Journal.
Dr. Glegg is a member of the Acoustical Society of America, the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the American Helicopter Society.
