Anthony P. Lyons received the B.S. degree in physics from Henderson State University, Arkadelphia, AR, in 1988 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in oceanography from Texas A&M University, College Station, in 1991 and 1995, respectively.

He joined the Saclant Undersea Research Centre, La Spezia, Italy, in 1995 as a Scientist in the Fine Scale Acoustics and Oceanography Group, where he has been involved in a variety of projects in the area of environmental acoustics. He is currently engaged in studies of high-frequency shallow-water propagation, acoustic interaction with the seafloor, and high-resolution characterization of seafloor sediments.

Dr. Lyons is a member of the Acoustical Society of America.
