Brian S. Bourgeois (M'79) was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on August 30, 1957. He received the B.S. degree in electric engineering in 1982, and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering in 1989 and 1991, respectively, from Tulane University, New Orleans, LA.
Since receiving his doctorate, he has been employed at the Naval Research Laboratory, Advanced Sensors and Survey Section, Stennis Space Center, MS. He is a Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve Force. His current interests are in underwater navigation, oceanographic sensors, autonomous surveying techniques, and autonomous vessels.
