R. Sudhakar (M'87) received his B.Sc.(Engg.) degree in electronics and communications engineering from the University of Kerala, India, in 1973, the M. Tech degree in radar and communication engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India in 1977, and the Ph.D degree for his research on digital signal processing from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India, in 1982.

He joined Keltron, Trivandrum, India, in 1973. From 1982 to 1983 he was with the University of Rhode Island, Kingston. Since August 1983 he has been with the Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, currently as an Associate Professor in electrical engineering. His research interests are in signal processing, digital communication, and computer vision.

Dr. Sudhakar is a Professional Engineer in the state of Florida.
