Thomas J. Sereno was born in Santa Monica, CA, in June 1959. He received the B.A. degree in physics from the University of California, San Diego, in 1982. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA, in 1986.After receiving the Ph.D. degree, he spent six months conducting post-doctoral research in seismology at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. He is currently a Geophysicist at Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, CA. His interests include treaty-monitoring seismology, seismic wave attenuation, low-frequency seismo-acoustics, and synthetic seismogram modeling.
Dr. Sereno is a member of the American Geophysical Union.
