Thomas N. Mero received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, in 1972.From 1972 to 1975 he worked for the Development Engineering Division, Ocean Engineering Department of the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office, Washington, DC. In 1975 he transferred to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Ocean Service. His present position is with the Ocean Systems Development Group, Ocean Office of Ocean and Earth Sciences of NOAA. Present projects are in the implementation of the field portion of NOS' Next Generation Water Level Measurement Systems (NGWLMS) and the Tampa Bay PORTS system.
Mr. Mero is Treasurer of the Current Measurement Technology Committee of the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society.
