Leendert F. van der Wal was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in November 1953.He received the B.S. and the M.S. degrees in Physics from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands in 1978.
He has been active in the field of acoustical signal processing since 1975, specializing in acoustic inversion techniques, with appications to medical ultrasound, underwater acoustics and recently ground surface radar.
Presently, he is a Staff Member of the Institute of Applied Physics TNO-TH in Delft, The Netherlands.
