Kevin R. Goheen received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in mechanical engineering from Queen's University (Kingston) in 1983, and the Ph.D. degree from University College, University of London, in 1986.

After receiving the Ph.D. degree, he worked with YARD Ltd. Consulting Engineers on submarine and surface-ship simulations. In 1988 he joined the faculty of Carleton University, Ottawa, ON, Canada, where he is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. His research interests include simulation, control, and system identification and their application to remotely operated underwater vehicles, surface ships, and helicopters.

Dr. Goheen is a member of ASME and the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
