Lucy R. Wyatt received the B.Sc. degree in mathematics from Manchester University, U.K., in 1972, the M.Sc. degree in fluid mechanics from Bristol University, U.K., in 1973, and the Ph.D. degree in oceanography from Southampton University in 1976.
From 1976 to 1978, she was a Research Fellow at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, studying entrainment processes. This was followed by two years in the U.K. Atmosphere Modeling Group at Reading University. From 1981 to 1987, she was employed as a Research Fellow in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, U.K., working on techniques to interpret HF radar signals in terms of ocean wave parameters and coordinating the experimental work. She is now a Reader in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Sheffield, U.K., and is continuing her work on HF radar remote sensing.
