Harry A. DeFerrari received the B.M.E. degree from Catholic University in 1959, the M.S. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1962, and the Ph.D. Degree in underwater acoustics from Catholic University in 1966.
He has been a Professor of Marine Science since 1967 at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami. He is the Chair of the Division of Applied Marine Physics. His research interests include signal processing and underwater acoustics. He has active experimental research programs on shallow water propagation, sea surface scattering, and ocean acoustic tomography.
Dr. Deferrari received a Distinguished Naval Educator Award in 1990, and he is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America.
