Robert Headrick is a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. He received the B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1983 and the M.S. and O.E. degrees in oceanographic engineering from the Joint Program between Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (MIT/WHOI), Woods Hole, MA, in 1990. He recently received the Ph.D. degree from MIT/WHOI

He returned to submarine duty from 1990 to 1994 before beginning his Ph.D. studies. His research interests include ocean acoustic modeling and acoustic tomography.
