Yasukazu Tsusaka was born in Nagoya, Japan on December 16, 1946. He received the B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering in 1969 and the M.S.M.E. degree in 1971 from Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan.He has worked for Mitsui Ocean Development and Engineering Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, since 1971, where he has been involved in the development of underwater systems. From 1983 to 1985 he was the team leader of the ROV project.
