Thomas B. Curtin received the B.S. degree in physics from Boston College in 1967, the M.S. degree in physical oceanography from Oregon State University in 1969, and the Ph.D.degree in physical oceanography from University of Miami in 1979.For three years he was an assistant professor at North Carolina State University, engaged in teaching and research on ocean frontal systems, shelf dynamics, and instrumentation. He joined the Office of Naval Research (ONR), Arlington, Virginia in 1983 as a scientific officer in the Physical Oceanography Program. Currently, he is the Program Manager for Arctic Sciences at ONR. He continues as an Adjunct Faculty Member at North Carolina State University.
