Guoliang Jin was born in Shanghai, China, on December 8, 1944. He received the B.S. degree from the Physics Department of Fudan University, China, in 1967.
He has been a Research Professor and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Acoustics Laboratory, Academia Sinica, since 1991, and he was a Guest Investigator at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, from March 1992 to March 1994. His main research interests are in underwater acoustic wave propagation and scattering with extensive field experience.
