Ledolph Baer received the Ph.D. from the Department of Meteorology and Oceanography at New York University in 1962 after receiving a Masters degree from Texas A&M University.He is presently with the National Ocean Service of the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration, Rockville, MD, where his responsibilities include the Coastal Waves Program. He was one of the early workers in computer-based wave hindcast/forecast models. His present interests include stress wave statistics, accuracy, and measurement methods.
