Jose R. M. Da Silva received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Bahia in 1977 and M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Military Engineering Institute (IME), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1987.Since 1990, he has been a researcher at the Naval Research Institute (IPqM), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His major interests are sonal signal processing and neural network pattern recognition applied to acoustic signals.
