Geoffrey W. French received the B.S. degree in oceanography from the Florida Institute of Oceanography, Melbourne, FL in 1975.He has worked as an Oceanographer for the NOAA, National Ocean Service, since 1975. He is presently serving as a Tide and Current Prediction Analyst for the National Tide and Current Prediction Program. He is the sole author of the data acquisition system software for the Physical Oceanographic Real Time System (PORTS), and significantly contributed to the overall success of PORTS.
