Dimitris E. Pantzartzis received the Bachelor of Applied Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Windsor, Ontario, in 1987 and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Duke University, Durham NC in 1989.

He worked as a design engineer for Research Triangle Institute in Raleigh NC from 1989 until 1991. He is currently a visiting Research Scholar at the Marine Physical Laboratory of Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego CA working towards his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. His recent research interests include application specific VLSI chip and system design, image and signal processing, neural network algorithms and applications, high resolution power spectrum methods, sidescan, and multibeam bathymetric sonar systems.
