Emyr Roberts, David Last, Gwyn Roberts; Precision current measurements using drifting buoys equipped with decca navigator and argos, Proceedings of the IEEE Fourth Working Conference on Current Measurement, vol. 4, pp. 7 - 13, April 1990.
Gwyn Roberts (M'90) received the B.Sc. degree in electronic engineering in 1982, and the Ph.D. degree on the subject of seismic signal processing in 1988, both from the University of Wales. From 1986-1987, he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow on a European Space Agency Contract at the University of Wales, Bangor, to develop a microgravity isolation mount. Subsequently, as an electronics design engineer with the University's commercial company, Industrial Development Bangor Ltd., he has been responsible for the detailed design and development of a wide range of products, from the Decca/Argos drifting buoys described in this paper to portable speech translation systems. His current interests include signal processing and gate array design.
Dr. Roberts is a Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
