Joyce E. Miller, a Senior Scientist with Science Applications International Corp., has applied multibeam sonar technologies and integrated survey systems to surveys in deep-water environments since 1981, and since 1992 has applied these systems for hydrographic work at SAIC. She served as Surveyor for the NOAA survey project and has extensive operational experience in marine geology and physical oceanography on commercial, NOAA, NAVOCEANO, and university research vessels since 1974. She studied Marine Geology at the University of Hawaii and holds a Master of Science degree from Indiana University.
