Akio Yasuda was born in 1943 in Nagoya, Japan. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan, in 1966 and the M.S. and Dr. Eng. degrees from Nagoya University.He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Navigation Sciences and Engineering at Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine, Tokyo, Japan. His research interests are in the oceanic engineering and plasma diagnostics by lasers.
Dr. Yasuda is a member of the Japan Institute of Navigation, the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research, the Physical Society of Japan, the Institute of Electronics and Communication Engineers of Japan, the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, and the Laser Society of Japan.
