Jerald W. Caruthers (M'95) received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in physics from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, in 1961, 1965, and 1968, respectively.

He began work in ocean science and acoustics as an Assistant Professor of Physical Oceanography in 1968. He has held several management positions at the Naval Ocean Research and Development Activity (NORDA) and the Naval Oceanography Office (NAVOCEANO). He is presently Research Physicist at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) at Stennis Space Center, MS.
