Tina R. Messerschmitt was born in Los Gatos, CA, on May 6, 1971. She received the B.S. and M.S.E. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993 and 1995, respectively.

She worked on a variety of adaptive beamforming problems at the Applied Research Laboratories, University of Texas at Austin, from 1992 to 1995. In 1996, she joined the DSP division of Motorola SPS in Austin, TX. She is the Chairman of the Ad-Hoc Communications Committee for the Central Texas Section of the IEEE.
