Dr. Joseph M. Cuschieri received his Ph. D. tlom the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research of the University of Southampton, England in 1983. Since then he has been on the faculty of the Department of Ocean Engineering at Florida Atlantic University where he is now a professor. His main interests are structural acoustics, signal processing, and high resolution sonar for underwater target imaging. He is the 1991 recipient of the R. Bruce Lindsay Award from the Acoustical Society of America for contributions to Structural Power Flow.
