Leon R. Warren was born in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Buzzards Bay.

He is currently Principal Engineer, Systems, Raytheon Co., Submarine Signal Division, Portsmouth, RI. Since 1977, he has specialized in the development of shipboard transducer arrangements, sonar dome concepts, applications and designs for the Division's naval sonar systems. Employed by the Raytheon Co. since 1959, his professional background includes marine engineering, development of electronic equipment packaging concepts, and the conceptual design and planning of naval shipboard equipment installations.
