Richard A. Gramann was born in Elgin, IL. He received the B.S. degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, all in aerospace engineering.
He is currently a Research Engineer Associate at the Applied Research Laboratories at the University of Texas at Austin (ARL:UT). He has held this position since 1991, where he performs research in acoustics and signal processing for a variety of defense-related programs. Prior to joining ARL:UT, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin in the Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics Department. Prior to entering graduate school, he held an engineering position within the aerodynamics group at McDonnell Douglas Corporation in Long Beach, CA.
Dr. Gramann is a senior member of the American Institute for Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
