Bob J. Taylor obtained the B.S. degree in ocean engineering from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL, in 1971. He has done graduate work in mechanical and ocean engineering at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL.Mr. Taylor is Technical Manager of the Special Projects Staff of NOAA's Office of Oceanography and Marine Services, Rockville, MD. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Chief of the Ocean Engineering Division of NOAA's Office of Ocean-Technology and Engineering Services. While at NOAA, he has managed projects involving buoy and mooring system development, instrumentation development, OTEC ocean Structure research and development, and towed systems development. He served two years aboard the NOAA Ship Researcher as an officer in the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps.
