Jerome P. Dean has been at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since 1970 when he joined the Technical Staff in the Physical Oceanography Department. A BSEE from Virginia Tech, he spent 10 years at Sperry Marine Systems before coming to Woods Hole. He has worked with shipboard stable platforms for gravity systems, free-floating and moored current meters, and related problems. More recently involved with meteorological measurements and near-surface instrumentation, he is now working on a current profiler to be used from the Floating Instrument Platform (FLIP) for near-surface studies.
