Boris G. Kutuza was born in Kharkov, USSR, on January 26, 1938. He received the Diploma Engineer Physicist degree in radio physics from the Moscow Physical Technical Institute in 1961. In 1961, he joined the Institute of Radioengineering and Electronics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (IRE AS USSR), where he received the Ph.D. degree in radio physics in 1966.He took part in the program of the microwave remote sensing from satellites, since the first radiometric "Cosmos-243" satellite launching, in 1968. Now he is Head of the Remote Sensing Group in the IRE AS USSR.
