Michael W. Szabados was born on January 15, 1950, in Levitton, NY. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics (Hons.) from the New York Institute of Technology in 1972 and the M.Sc. in physical oceanography from University of Connecticut in 1975.He spent three years as an Oceanographer with the Envirosphere Company. He has spent the past six years with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. His research activities and interests encompass wind generated waves, tidal dynamics, and estuarine circulation.
Mr. Szbados is a member of the National Society of Physicists.
