Pradip M. Bakshi was born in Baroda, India, on August 21, 1936. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics and mathematics from Bombay University in 1955, and the A.M. and Ph.D. (theoretical physics) degrees from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, in 1957 and 1962, respectively.He is a Research Professor of Physics at Boston College, Boston, MA. Earlier, he held a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard (1963), was a Research Physicist at Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories (1963-1966), and was a Senior Research Associate (1966-1968) and Visiting Associate Professor (1968- 1970) in the Physics Department at Brandeis University, Waltham, MA. He has been at Boston College since 1970. His research interests include quantum field theory, theoretical plasma physics, and mathematical physics, especially nonpermrbative techniques.
