John W. Loder received the B.Sc. (Honors Physics) degree from Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia, in 1975, and the Ph.D. (Oceanography with Distinction) degree from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1981.He has been employed as a Research Scientist in the Ocean Circulation Division at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography since 1982, specializing in continental shelf circulation and hydrographic variability.
