Stephen Wolf received the B.S. degree from Lebanon Valley College in 1966 and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Maryland in 1971.
Since that time, he has been working at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC, in the field of experimental shallow-water acoustics and acoustic modeling. His research interests have included acoustic propagation, reverberation, ambient noise, target strength, random medium influences, and signal processing. From 1986 to 1988, he was a Visiting Acientist at the Defence Research Establishment Atlantic in Dartmouth, NS, Canada. He has authored 13 refereed journal articles and 22 conference proceedings and laboratory reports.
Dr. Wolf is a member of the Acoustical Society of America (Fellow 1986) and Sigma Xi.
