I-Tai Lu received the B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from the National Chiao-Tung University in 1976 and 1978, respectively, and the Ph.D.E.E. degree from Polytechnic University in 1985.

From 1978 to 1980, he was an instructor in the Department of Communication Engineering, National Chiao-Tung University. Presently, he is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Polytechnic University. His major research objective is to develop new techniques for analyzing the wave propagation and scattering phenomena in complicated environments with applications in various disciplines such as integrated optics, microwave integrated circuits, exploration geophysics, underwater acoustics, structural acoustics, and nondestructive evaluation. He is a member of The Institute for Theory and Computation of The Electromagnetic Academy, URSI Commission B, Sigma Xi, Optical Society of America, Acoustical Society of America, and Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
