JOSEPH J. TAMUL, JR. After service in the U. S. Navy and employment in the electronics industry, Joseph J. (Jack) Tamul attended East Carolina University, receiving B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics. He entered the Ph.D. program in Physical Oceanography at Florida State University in 1972. Since 1978, he has been with the Physical Oceanography Branch of the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office and heavily involved in the current measurement program there.
