Oscar Karl Huh received the B.A. degree from Rutgers, State University of New ,Jersey, New Brunswick, in 1957. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, in 1963 and 1968, respectively.He joined the R&D Department of the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office in 1967. In January, 1976, he was appointed to the faculty of the Coastal Studies Institute, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, where he is a Professor and Senior Researcher in remote sensing of coastal and continental shelf processes. He conducted the first oceanographic experiments with the Defense Meteorological Satellites over the Sea of Japan in 1972. He has designed and directed some five major ship-aircraft-satellite experiments in N.E. Asia and U.S. Gulf coast waters.
Dr. Huh is a member of the American Geophysical Union.
