Alan K. Steele (S'71 M'73) was born in Brisbane, Australia on November 7, 1948. He received the B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Queensland. Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in 1970 and 1976, respectively.Since 1974 he has been with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Salisbury, South Australia. From August 1983 to November 1984 he was attached to the Naval Research Laboratory, Wash ington, DC as an exchange scientist. His primary research interests are in sonar signal processing.
