John B. Thomas (S'52-M'56-SM'60-F'65) was born in New Kensington, PA, on July 14, 1925. He received the A.B. degree from Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, PA, in 1944, the B.S. degree from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, in 1952, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, in 1953 and 1955, respectively.During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. From 1946 to 1952, he was employed by Koppers Co., Inc., Baltimore, MD. Since 1955 he has been a member of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, and is currently a Professor in that department. His principal interests are in communications and controls, and random processes.
Dr. Thomas is a member of Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Xi.
