Shaolin Li (S'86-M'91) received the B.S. degree from the Nanjing Institute of Meteorology, Nanjing, People's Republic of China, in 1982, the M.S. degree from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, in 1985, both in physics and fluid dynamics, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Yale University, New Haven, CT, in 1988 and 1991, respectively. His dissertation topic dealt with the estimation of source locations in underwater acoustic channels and its Cramer-Rao bounds.He has been a Research Associate at The Salk Institute, San Diego, CA, since 1991. His present research interests are in the areas of neural networks, analog VLSI, digital communications, and underwater acoustic signal processing.
