Kazuhiko Ohta, George V. Frisk; Modal evolution and inversion for seabed geoacoustic properties in weakly range-dependent shallow-water waveguides, IEEE J. Oceanic Eng., vol. 22, pp. 501 - 521, July 1997.
Kazuhiko Ohta was born in Nagoya, Japan, in 1954. He received the B.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan, in 1977, the M.S. degree in ocean engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, in 1983, and the Ph.D. degree from the MIT/WHOI Joint Graduate Program in oceanography/applied ocean science and engineering in 1993.
He subsequently joined the Technical Research and Development Institute (TRDI), Japan Defense Agency. He received the M.S. degree at MIT while holding his position at TRDI. He then returned to TRDI and subsequently enrolled in the MIT/WHOI Joint Graduate Program. His research interests and responsibilities at TRDI include underwater sound propagation, signal processing, and all aspects of sonar design and testing.
