Einar Svendsen has the degree in physical oceanography (Cand. Real.) in 1979 from the University of Bergen, Norway.Since 1979, he has mainly been working with microwave remote sensing with special interests in satellite retrievals of sea-ice cencentration and wind speed. He took active part in the NORSEX-79 and MIZEX-83, 84 marginal ice zone experiments, and is currently working on the NORMARSEN (Norwegian Maritime Remote Sensing) Program.
