Benoit Zerr (M'94) was born in Belfort, France, on September 20, 1961. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Haute Alsace, Mulhouse, in 1989.

From 1986 to 1994, he was a Research and Development Engineer at the Groupe d'Etudes Sous-Marines de l'Atlantique (GESMA), Brest, France. Since 1995, he has been a Scientist at the NATO SACLANT Undersea Research Centre, La Spezia, Italy.
