Marc Gensane; A statistical study of acoustic signals backscattered from the sea bottom, IEEE J. Oceanic Eng., vol. 14, pp. 84 - 93, January 1989.
Marc Gensane was born in 1951 in Amiens, France. In 1974 he received the M.S. degree in engineering from the Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Marseille, MarseilIe, France, and in 1978 the Ph.D. degree in acoustics from the Aix Marseille University, obtained for works on architectural and room acoustics performed at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Marseille. After obtaining the Ph.D. degree, he was with the Electricité de France, working on fissure detection on liquid sodium filled tanks. Since 1979, he has been a Research Engineer at Thomson-Sintra ASM, Arcueil, France, where his work involves the various aspects of underwater acoustics: propagation, various aspects of scattering, acoustic data processing and analysis, bottom, surface, and water knowledge.
