Mark A. Donelan received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from McGill University in 1964, and the Ph.D. degree in physics (oceanography) from the University of British Columbia in 1970.After a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Cambridge, he joined the staff of the Department of the Environment at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters, Burlington, Ontario. His research there deals with many aspects of air-water interaction, particularly momentum, heat and mass transfer and the generation, propagation and dissipation of surface gravity waves.
