J. S. Kennedy received the B.E. degree in physics and the M.Sc. degree, in 1972 and 1975, respectively, both from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Sask., Canada.Since 1975, he has been working for the Canadian Department of National Defence at the Defence Research Establishment Pacific, Victoria, B.C., where he is currently Leader of the Ocean Acoustics Group. His primary interests are in the areas of signal and array processing for passive towed-array sonars, underwater ambient noise, and towed-array performance analysis.
Mr. Kennedy is a member of the Canadian Association of Physicists and the Acoustical Society of America.
