Sien-Chang C. Liu (M'72) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, on March 2, 1947. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taiwan, in 1969, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering in 1972 and 1975, respectively, from Duke University, Durham, NC.He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, Dearborn, from 1975 to 1977. From 1977 to 1979, he was with Harris Government Communication Systems Division, Melbourne, FL, as an Associate Principal Engineer. During this period his major work was on adaptive arrays for global positioning systems (GPS). Since 1979 he has been employed by Hughes Aircraft Company, Ground Systems Group, Fullerton, CA. His current interests are adaptive null-steering antennas, active army antennas, and radar signal processing techniques.
