Robert G. Onstott (S'73-M'79) was born in Wichita, KS, on November 13, 1952. He received the B.S.E.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, in 1974 and 1976, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, in 1980.

Since 1976 he has been with the Remote Sensing Laboratory at the University of Kansas where he is currently a Research Associate. His research is in the area of radar backscatter properties of sea ice.
