John L. Riley (AM'89) was born in Adelaide, South Australia, on April 23, 1958. He received the B.Sc. (Hons) and Ph.D. degrees in atomic physics from the Flinders University of South Australia, Adelaide, South Australia in 1980 and 1984, respectively.Since 1988 he has been with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Salisbury, South Australia. Since March 1993 he has been attached to the Defence Research Establishment Atlantic, Nova Scotia, Canada as an exchange scientist. His primary research interests are in sonar signal processing.
Dr. Riley is a member of the APS as well as the Australian Institute of Physics
