David N. Swingler (M'75-SM'83) was born in Nottingham, England. He received the first-class honors degree and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Sheffield, England, in 1968 and 1971, respectively, both in electrical engineering.From I972 to 1979 he taught in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Cape Town, South Africa, and thereafter joined Saint Mary's University, Halifax, N.S., Canada, where he is currently a Professor of Engineering. His research interests are centered on array processing.
