Lawrence J. Rosenblum received the B. A. degree (1964) in mathematics from Queens College of the City University of New York, and the M.S. (1966) and Ph.D. (1971) degrees in mathematics from Ohio State University, Columbus. He is a Computer Scientist in the Marine Systems Branch at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, where he has worked since 1977. His current research interests include visualization of oceanographic data and vision for underwater autonomous vehicles. He has also developed real-time data acquisition systems for oceanographic experiments aboard ships and aircraft.
Dr. Rosenblum is a former chairman of the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee on Computer Graphics (1986-1988). He is currently a vice-chairperson of the Computer Society's Technical Activities Board and is a co-chairperson of the COMPUSAT '89-The Interdisciplinary World of Computing-satellite symposium. He is a member of the ACM, SIGGRAPH, and the American Geophysical Union.
